New Start. Seriously!

So ~ actually logged my working hours for the past month.  Am horrified!  84 one week, 73 another, 81 & 67 rounded it out.  wth?  I've have started job hunting/searching ~ no small wonder I have had no real life to speak of for the past couple of years...  Completely on me, though ~ some of my teammates barely put in 35-40.  No idea how they do that AND keep their customers happy?  But enough of that ~
Am excited to have friends here this week (only with me for the weekend, then off to their nearby resort) and plenty of plans for the month of July.  Time to get a life my life back.

Completely work related, nothing else, though sadly, I've worked so much the passed 3 years I don't have much else.  Pity?  Party of one?
So glad Bestie & her hubs are here this weekend ~ need some fun, nonalcoholic type.  Well...  Maybe just 1 drink (or 7?).

Great (re)start!

Woo Hoo ~ 2 days in a row...  What a week/month at work ~ this weekend is the annual Chaine dinner for the scholarship fund.  Unlike last year, I won't be working 30+hours over the weekend (just 12), as my sis and fam will be here at the beach for my gorgeous niece's cheer competition.  Very excited to FINALLY see her compete!  Even more excited for them to see all the new furniture!
Next weekend the Bestie+hubby will be here for his softball tourney ~ am looking forward to that as well.  Totally reminiscing about watching at the old airbase fields ~ an ex played for the USAF team and we were here often for games/tournaments.  Fond memories.  Speaking of that ex ~ he's baaaaaacccck!  Not that way, of course ~ I believe going back to an ex is like going to a garage sale and buying your own stuff.  Whywouldyou?  Tracked me down via something called 'mylife' and then fb.  Shockedthehellouttame!  We've caught up, I was sooooo in love with him back then ~ and now, NOW, he tells me he believes I was 'the one'.  wth??  I've GOT TO fix my lovelife Karma, and S O O N!
Bestie is hoping I will watch/meet/fallinlove with one of the guys playing on the hub's team and will immediately head back to Charleston.  I am hoping to win the lottery tomorrow night...

Holy Crap! aka wtf?

It's been a year?  An entire year?  Since I last wrote?  That explains my desire NEED of adult beverages!  No creative outlet = my thinking shots named 'chocolate cake', 'perfect pussy' and 'buttery nipple' were a good idea last Friday night ~ at the infamous AB's 31st b-day get together.  Ouch for the remainder of the work-filled weekend! 
So, in my world, this is a new year!  I will date (totally forgot to do that last 12 months), I will work LESS THAN 60 hours per week, I will have fun and travel and not shop for anything other than a house.  Those are my resolutions.  Mostly.  Starting now-ish.
I DID "run" the 1/2 marathon in Vegas in December.  If we use 'run' in the loosest possible meaning, or (how it really happened) I ran for 6 miles, power-walked for 1.3 after that, then walked/hobbled/crawled the remaining distance ~ which totalled 13.6 miles vs the promised 13.1 (that .5 REALLY did me in), as someone had mismarked the course.  I cried, actual huge/real/alligatoresque tears, the last mile+.  Because it had started to rain.  In other words, if you ever want to completely ruin a vacation, run a marathon or any portion of one.  Ugh and ouchie!  Poor D had to listen to me whine for the 4 hour ride back to Cali.  So glad I wasn't her, as I was actually a pain in my OWN ass!
The vaca part was good, up until Sunday evening.  It was NFR AND the Country Music Awards were in town.  And I won some money.  Because D made me gamble.  My idea of gambling is hoping they have my size at a shoe sale.  So I had to do something great with the moolah.  Like shop.  For a new fur coat.  And the fancypants new luggage needed to get gorgeous aforementioned coat back to Myrtle Beach.  Where fur coats are NEVER needed.  We had winter this year ~ it was on a Wednesday, if I recall...

Another Rodeo Under My VeryBlingyBelt!

So glad to be back at the beach!  Rodeo was amazing (watching any/all activites from a Suite is highly recommended), my friends were fabulous (planning a trip to see Kid Rock again ~ he blew us away), I committed to run the Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon in Vegas this December, I missed my pooches ~ wait?  What was that?  Marathon? 
Over an afternoon with several longtime friends (in the very hot sun) consisting of many lbs of yummy crawfish and even more buckets of icy cold beer (did I mention the centerofthesun heat?), I agreed ~ no, wait, was challenged, badgered, whatevered into running the half in Vegas.  It's at night, they said!  Down the Strip, they sang!  How very cool, they exclaimed!  Thank God it is only March ~ I have time to train.  I am SO COMMITTED that I went to DSW and all I bought (other that the gorgeous Valero sparkly sandals and waytoocute envelope clutch) were two pairs of unattractive Saucony running shoes.  Sadly, once you're professionally fitted with running shoes, you know how horrid any other type feels after many miles. 
But first ~ 'AB's' "Totally 80's 30th Birthday Bash" this weekend.  Am looking forward to using 3/4 of a can of the silver/pink AquaNet minimum (name the new ozone hole after me) and throwing on my best FlashDance garb ever!  Cannot wait! 
Gotta get back to a little catch up work ~ still aiming for the sky professionally!

No mas, por favor...!

I am up to my ears in work and such!  No more can be added to my plate, thank you!  Work is busier than busy, working my (generously sized) ass off with eyes on a promotion, getting ready for a Food Show next week, vacation the end of next week, taking care of a recently spayed lab puppy (keep her calm?  areyoufuckingkiddingme???), working on the Chaine des Rotisseurs dinner over the weekend and sleeping...  Well, whenever I get a minute.  Whew, felt good to unload that!
The weather has turned, at long last.  I love spring, though I believe I will better enjoy it next year AFTER the nose surgery when I will have both (working) nostrils.  Am ever so excited to pick my new nose, pun totally intended. 
No new news on the romance front, did finally shake the stage 4 clinger.  Why is it the ones you don't want to hear from can't (won't?) take a polite hint, yet the ones you want to call seem not to know how to use this modern invention (phone)?  Oh well, life's little mysteries.
Excited to be headed to Rodeo in just over a week ~ yee haw!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!  Although I am still single, I am in a really good place.  Let it be noted ~ one year anniversary has come and gone from the the (first) broken nose incident of 2010!  Am thinking of getting it fixed next Jan ~ just have to pick the nose I want to replace this one ~ pun intended! 
Had a great weekend with friend "L" ~ got to show her all around, even spent a little time at the beach.  Made appointment to get Cooper fixed, along with Bella (the one my sis adopted).  Finger's crossed, this will calm the little 'ladies' (I use the term loosely) down...  Neighbors just got two adorable puppies, "L" actually flew with the pups, hence the visit from the great frozen north!
Busy, busy, busy with work ~ all good, am hoping to move up the corporate ladder soon.
No contact from "MS", although we're now friends on fb ~ think maybe it's a friend thing vs. romance.
Have scheduled this year's Rodeo trip, very excited to see my Texas friends!
